Adoption of Teacher Training Courses at Yerevan State University

Within the frameworks of Erasmus+ PRINTeL Project YSU teaching staff as well as a number of lecturers from other RA universities attended the Teacher Trianing courses organized by trained lecturers at YSU. Due to the courses the teaching staff members acquired new methods of and upgraded their knowledge in innovative teaching and learning.

Since the first half of 2019-2020 academic year YSU lecturers started their active participation in the courses held within the framework of Erazmus + PRINTeL Project. The purpose of the teacher training courses is not only to develop the lecturers’ professional skills but also to enhance their ability to use innovative teaching technologies. YSU lecturers who had been trained in the European partner Universities now share the experience and knowledge with their colleagues.

   

13 groups were formed and 171 lecturers completed the courses. Their feedbacks were satisfactory and many of them wanted to participate in other courses held within the framework of the project. They are also very encouraged to apply the gained knowledge in the near future.

   

In the second half of 2019/2020 academic year not only YSU lecturers but also lecturers from other RA universities participated in the courses held within the framework of Erazmus + PRINTeL Project. 16 groups were formed and 328 lecturers completed the courses.

   

Taking into account the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, the courses were organized with the use of Zoom, Google Meet and Moodle platforms.

As is well known, it was decided to organize 2020/2021 academic year’s educational process at YSU mainly through distance learning. In the framework of Erazmus + PRINTeL Project YSU lecturers who had been trained in the European partner universities also organized webinars for their colleagues.

   

In 2020/2021 academic year, in near future, besides these, there will also be organised courses and webinars, individual and group consultancies for all the lecturers who will need methodological support in the organisation of distance learning.

As a result, in total 29 Teacher Training courses were successfully conducted by the trained lecturers of YSU and 499 lecturers managed to learn and upgrade their knowledge and skills in innovative T&L.
